So, I am working on Book 3…

Hum, do I have a masochistic streak? Honest, I really did finish the first book; hated it; others hated it; took it off of Amazon; rewrote it; published it again. Then got busy and wrote a second book called Surviving Higgins World: Change or Chaos. The story continues and I keep writing. And again, I ask myself, why?

I have now passed my 80th birthday. My son is convinced I will make it to 2043 and my century mark. Do I really want to? Avoid the news but be sure and vote. Pretend the weather is just one of those Texas hot spells we have. Do you really want to spend two weeks traveling with your youngest daughter? The one who looks as if you cloned her rather than birthed her, the one who is so much like you, sigh you get the picture. Life can be strange sometimes.

I am enjoying the story of a world where I can make the decisions for everyone. The weird thing, and I have read this happens to other fiction writers, is sometime the characters take over the story. Suddenly, you are having them say something you had not planned. And you keep typing, and things keep happening. I have had this happen and ended up cutting the pages of conversation and saving them in a file marked cuts with the date. I may come back and use it, but not often. That story belongs to that character, not in the book.

I am not sure where the story is going. I am not sure how I am going to get Megal and Sarita as leaders of the planet, but that is where I am heading. If you have read the first two, let me know. It will encourage me to keep going. After all, at 80, what else do I have to do?
